Comments

This community event aims to increase understanding of the cultural differences and similarities in the American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations. The presenter will address the history and perceptions as well as the cancer disparities and outcomes these populations experience both locally and nationally. This event hopes to encourage dialogue in a safe atmosphere to better serve these unique populations. Presenter: Miquela Taffa (Laguna Pueblo) This event is free and open to the public. We welcome both community members and Washington University faculty, staff, and students who work with or are interested in these populations. Please feel free to bring lunch to this meeting. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact Saffiyah Poole at pooles@wudosis.wustl.edu. This event is co-hosted by the Program for the Elimination of Cancer Disparities (PECaD), part of Siteman Cancer Center, and the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies.
