Open science is critical for ensuring the products and process of research can extend as far as possible. Further, enhancing access to research is foundational to building public trust, increasing transparency, and advancing research rigor. Still, conversations around open science tend to center technical audiences at the expense of meeting the needs of non-technical audiences, who are crucial stakeholders in the scientific enterprise. In this seminar, we’ll explore how narrative storytelling provides a powerful medium for expanding access to science — leveraging personal experiences to connect with diverse audiences and create opportunities for dialog that can enrich science for the benefit of all. This seminar is open to all. https://becker.wustl.edu/scicomm/
