Recruiting Postdocs

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) has several mechanisms in place to assist faculty with recruiting new postdocs:

  • Faculty can post open postdoctoral positions on the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences’ Jobs Board at http://dbbs.wustl.edu/jobs. This site is self-service, faculty should proceed directly to the site to post their position. OPA refers all prospective postdoc inquiries to this website first.
  • OPA send brochures with the DBBS recruiters to ABRCMS (Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students) and SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) as well as other conferences they attend.  OPA sometimes attends the Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring, a diversity conference of over 900 attendees, primarily graduate students in the biomedical sciences: http://www.compactforfacultydiversity.org to advertise postdoctoral positions.

All general inquires about postdoctoral positions are referred to the Prospective Postdoc section of our website at http://dbbs.wustl.edu/prospectivepd. From here, postdocs are referred to the Jobs Board, as well as the DBBS Faculty Research Interests Database and the departmental websites. We encourage faculty to post their positions on the Jobs Board for maximum exposure.

Additionally, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is happy to meet with any prospective postdocs during their interview at WU. OPA can discuss postdoc policies & benefits, career and professional development training and WU and St. Louis information. Please email postdoc@email.wustl.edu to schedule a time.
