  • “Social networks and cancer disparities: Considerations in theory and measurement”

Description:

Dr. Molina will discuss how social network methods may enable us to measure more comprehensively 1) social factors’ roles in cancer disparities; and 2) incidental/spillover effects of cancer health interventions throughout participants’ social networks. Three examples of current cancer disparities studies that use social network data will be provided that focus on rural cancer survivors and caregivers; African American breast cancer survivors; and Latinas who are non-adherent to breast cancer screening guidelines.
