Research Abstract:
Work in my laboratory combines biochemical and biophysical techniques to shed light on the detailed interactions between macromolecules that are central to the biology of all organisms. Interest in Eukaryotic transcription as generated three related topics that are central to our work:

- -Co-transcriptional RNA folding
- -Intron splicing
- -Eukaryotic transcription

As the fold of the pre-mRNA transcript is known to modulate the dynamics of both transcription and splicing, measurements of the kinetics of co-transcriptional RNA folding will feed directly into the studies of these processes.
