Research Abstract:

My professional interests focus on the genetics and genetic epidemiology of addiction and psychiatric illness. My work demonstrates that there are both common and substance specific mechanisms acting to promote addiction in families. Molecular genetic studies of nicotine, alcohol and cocaine dependence show common and specific genetic risks.
