Research

The processes of secondary cell wall formation and xylem vessel differentiation remain incompletely understood. Fragile Fiber1 (FRA1), a plant kinesin, is believed to contribute to the production of primary and secondary cell walls. Using a fra1-5 knockout mutant, I am characterizing the localization and motility of the FRA1 kinesin during xylem vessel differentiation.
