Research summary
I am interested in immunological mechanisms involved in cancer and autoimmune disease.

In my previous research, I have worked to elucidate the etiology and progression of autoimmune arthritis. Along with colleagues from the University of California, San Francisco, we have investigated the mechanisms that cause arthritis in SKG mice. In doing so, we have established that a subset of CD4 T cells display biased peripheral TCR V-beta repertoire. This repertoire, known to be specific to endogenous mouse mammary tumor virus superantigens, is highly enriched in arthritic joints.
