Student career, training & professional development funds

The Division provides DBBS students with a $1000 allowance to be used toward career, training, and professional development expenses upon completion of appropriate milestones.
Career development takes many forms. Central repositories of career development opportunities can be found here ‘PhD & Postdoc – Center for Career Engagement‘ and here ‘Career Development‘. Many student groups have a career focus, and DBBS hosts workshops and panels specific to the biosciences.
In addition to the above opportunities, students may engage in a Mentored Professional Experience — a curated mini-internship — in their later years. This experience may be in science, administration, academia, industry, policy, entrepreneurship, DEI, and others yet to be imagined by students.
