Research summary
I currently study the role of astrocyte in neural synapse formation during development and after injury using drosophila and zebrafish.

I currently work in Dr. Sarah Ackerman’s lab studying the role of astrocyte in neural synapse formation during development and after injury using the drosophila and zebrafish model. Our lab has identified many genes in drosophila that control the critical period of development. I aim to translate these discoveries into the zebrafish model and test whether the functions of these genes are conserved across species.

I am also interested in developing systems biology approach to study the neuron-astrocyte interaction for synapse formation.
