Research summary
Neonatal infection with roseoloviruses disregulates T-cell development and leads to autoimmunity.

We hope to understand the relationship to neonatal infection with roseoloviruses, the disregulation of T cell development due to thymic atrophy, and the resultant escape of autoreactive T cells. I will be using a variety of in vitro and in vivo systems to describe the differences between T cell selection in neonates and adults during challenge with roseoloviruses and the resultant thymic atrophy.
