Research summary
Dendritic Cell Development

Dendritic cells (DCs) functions to bridge innate and adaptive immunity by mediating the activity of various effector cells. The two branches of DCs consists of plasmacytoid DCs (pDCs) and classical DCs (cDCs), of which can be further subdivided into cDC1s and cDC2s. cDC1s are uniquely important in response against intracellular pathogens and tumors due to their ability to cross-present antigens. My work in the Murphy lab will seek to better understand DC development—specifically the molecular genetic circuitries and transcriptional requirements driving lineage-differentiation.
